Some Testimonials….

Michelle’s testimonial…. 5 months ago I knew I needed to make a change in my life, I was eating too many takeaways, too many unhealthy snacks and way too much sugar. I had no energy and constantly felt sluggish and lethargic. I had tried other diet clubs but really did not enjoy getting weighed in public and I only seemed to lose weight in the first couple of weeks. When I started ditch the diet the first thing that struck me was that the focus was not all about food and because of this I found that I wasn’t obsessing over what I could and couldn’t eat. I also found each week we had to introduce a new habit into our lives, which made it really easy for me to make changes to my mindset about food. By week 6 I had suddenly discovered that I could recognise when I was full, something which I have never experienced before! Now 20 weeks on I have lost 2 stone and 6 inches off my waist and I can honestly say it has been the easiest weight loss I have ever experienced. I have much more energy and I feel more positive about myself. I also feel confident about my ability to continue to use the tools I have gained from ditch the diet and from Andrea to keep my new healthy lifestyle. Thank you Andrea for your help, encouragement and enthusiasm Michelle

Debbie’s Testimonial…
Well it’s now 20 weeks on from when I first walked through the Ditch The Diet door filled with a mixture of anxiety and hope that this might be the turning point in my life of increasing waistlines and equally increasing low self esteem!
At that first meeting I was relieved to learn that my years of ‘yo-yo dieting’ and guilt from eating the foods I so much enjoyed was over! It was now all about choices – my choices! That knowledge in itself gave me a sense of control over my… eating and life-style habits as well as the liberation from the ‘diet mentality’ of not being allowed this or that!
I loved the simplicity of eating a healthy diet that fed my body the nourishment it needed along with the vital, daily intake of water to ensure adequate hydration.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could eat ‘good’ fats again and that my previous belief of ‘low-fat’ options was in fact a poor decision! So armed with this information and Andrea’s expert guidance and unwavering encouragement, I started on this new journey! I also started to exercise again – something I had avoided for years following a mild heart attack at43 yrs old, in a previous exercise class!
I was surprised to find I was actually enjoying the various exercise classes and within a few weeks I started to gain confidence again in my fitness levels and was happy to push myself to do my best! Soon too the weight started to come off, albeit slowly but steadily, and I never felt I was denying myself anything I wanted to eat or my nights out socialising with friends and enjoying a few glasses of wine. I was responsible for my choices and controlled everything that passed my lips.
So, fast forward to today and I am delighted with how I have progressed – so far I have lost 24lbs, and in total 19 inches but, more importantly, a few weeks ago I learned that my cholesteral levels had reduced from last years annual check up at 5.6 to 3.4 – well within the recommend levels for someone with my medical history!
Needless to say my self esteem and confidence has greatly improved and whilst I have a bit yet to go before I reach my final goal, I am confident that with my new eating and exercise habits I will acheive this result in the next few months!
I am very grateful to Andrea and DTD for throwing me this life- line and for this Facebook forum which has been brilliant for sharing, recipes and ideas as well as a great means of group support!
Thank you Andrea and everyone at DTD for your input and encouragement – you have all made the journey that little bit easier! x
